A draft writ of summons on paper faster. A case file of hundreds of pages searched in minutes. And still in control of confidentiality and accuracy. In this advanced training you learn to apply ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot to your own cases. Hands-on, in-house or online, no technical background needed.
We run hands-on, in-house AI training for lawyers and legal professionals in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. We offer the same format tailored to notaries and tax professionals.
Your trainers: Tim Goudriaan, Loes Vrij, Khaoula El Ahmadi, Touria Khidous and/or Laureen Peskens MA.
AI in day-to-day legal practice
You work with real cases from your own practice. Don’t expect a theoretical lecture. This is a practical session where you do the work yourself. That way you learn not only what the tools can do, but also how to use them safely and sensibly in your daily work.
By default we work with ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot. On request we also look at other models, such as Claude, Gemini, Mistral or Perplexity. That way the training fits the systems your firm uses.
Working safely and the duty of confidentiality
For lawyers, confidentiality comes first. Public models can process data outside the EU and use it for training. You learn which information you can and cannot enter, so client data does not leak out.
AI sometimes invents sources and rulings that look right. In 2025, lawyers ran into exactly this in Dutch court cases. You learn to spot these hallucinations and check every reference. The training follows the recommendations of the Netherlands Bar (NOvA) on careful AI use and the AI literacy requirements of the EU AI Act, which have applied across the EU since February 2025. Want to go further on compliance? See our EU AI Act compliance consulting or our AI consulting for organisations.
Part of the learning path
All our programmes can be taken on their own or as a learning path. This advanced training builds on AI literacy. Want to embed AI in the way your firm works afterwards? See AI Way of Working. For the same AI output at lower cost, there is Token reduction for lawyers.
Preparing for your firm
Light tailoring to your firm, roles and types of case files is standard. Do you work in a specialist area or with fixed templates? Then we adapt the examples and exercises to match. That way you practise straight away with familiar material from your own practice.

Frequently asked questions
Do I earn CPD points for this training?
Possibly. Under the Dutch Bar regulations, members of the Netherlands Bar (NOvA) can award themselves points for non-accredited training, usually in proportion to its length. A half day is roughly four points, a full day more. We are not accredited and do not award points ourselves. If you are admitted in Belgium or Luxembourg, check the rules of your own bar. You decide whether the training fits your professional development needs.
Can a lawyer use AI given the duty of confidentiality?
Yes, with care. It comes down to which information you enter and in which environment. In the training you learn to work safely, without confidential information leaking out.
How do I avoid invented case law and AI errors?
AI can invent sources and rulings that sound convincing. We teach you to spot these hallucinations and check every reference, so no incorrect sources end up in your documents.
How many participants can take part?
A group usually has 6 to 30 participants. With more than 15 participants we bring two trainers, so everyone gets enough personal attention.
Do I need any prior knowledge?
No. The training requires no technical background. We do ask you to create a ChatGPT account before or during the training.
