Learn how to get the same AI output with far fewer tokens. This advanced training teaches lawyers and legal professionals to prompt cost-consciously, process long case files smartly and keep their firm's AI usage under control. Hands-on, in-house or online, with no technical background needed.

A due diligence file easily runs to hundreds of pages. If you send that whole file to an AI tool with every question, you pay each time for text the question doesn’t need. Costs go up without the answer getting any better.

In this training you see where that usage comes from and how to bring it down. You send only the passages that matter, you reuse fixed prompts for recurring work and you tackle long documents in steps.

The session is practical. You practise with your own cases and work with whichever AI model your firm uses, from ChatGPT to Microsoft Copilot and Claude.

Your trainers: Tim Goudriaan, Loes Vrij, Touria Khidous and/or Khaoula el Ahmadi. The team has extensive experience with AI in legal practice.

Confidentiality comes first

Working cost-consciously must never come at the expense of confidentiality. You learn which data you should and should not enter into an AI tool, so client data doesn’t leak. You always assess the output critically: AI supports your work, the responsibility stays with you. And you make clear agreements within the firm about who may do what and how you keep an eye on usage.

Part of the learning path for lawyers

Every training can be taken on its own or as part of a learning path. This advanced training builds on the foundation of AI literacy. Want to embed AI structurally in the way your firm works? Take a look at our AI Way of Working.

The training also connects to our broader AI training for lawyers. You will find an overview of all our trainings on the training page.

Practical information for law firms

The training is for lawyers, legal professionals, legal counsel and legal support staff. No technical background or experience with AI is needed. We do ask you to create an account, before or during the training, with the AI tool your firm uses. We deliver the training in-house at your firm and online, always tailored to your practice.

Continuing education points. The training may qualify for continuing professional development points. Contact us to discuss registration and the options.

Applications

Where AI helps

Contract analysis

Having contracts and clauses reviewed in a targeted way, with an approach that doesn't send the whole document along unnecessarily.

Due diligence

Searching and summarising large data rooms through smart selection, so you use fewer tokens per question.

Case law research

Exploring sources and judgments with short, targeted prompts, always checking for accuracy.

Draft opinions and correspondence

Drafting opinions and letters with reusable prompts that stay short and consistent.

Summarising case files

Summarising long documents in steps, so the context is kept and usage stays low.

Frequently asked questions

How much can I save on AI costs?

That varies by firm and by way of working. Often it means tens of percent less token usage, depending on how you prompt now and how large your case files are. In the training we work it out together for your own situation.

Does quality suffer with shorter prompts?

No. You learn how to reach the same quality with fewer tokens. Preventing loss of quality is central to the training.

Does this work with every AI model?

Yes. The techniques work with any AI model. You apply them in ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude and other tools.

Who is the training for?

For lawyers, legal professionals, legal counsel and legal support staff. Do you work as a notary or in tax practice? We have separate trainings for those.

How many participants can take part?

A group usually has 6 to 30 participants. With more than 15 participants we bring two trainers, so everyone gets enough personal attention.

Is prior knowledge needed?

No. The training requires no technical background. We do ask you to create an account, before or during the training, with the AI tool your firm uses.
