Learn to use ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot responsibly in policy work: for policy documents, research, communication and reporting. Hands-on, in-house or online, no technical background needed. This is our Advanced training, tailored to the public sector.

We run hands-on, in-house AI training for policy makers and public sector professionals. We have experience with municipalities, provinces and other government organisations. We also offer the same format tailored to municipalities.

Your trainers: Tim Goudriaan and Diederik Stolk.

AI for policy makers and the public sector

You work with real cases from your own practice. Don’t expect a theoretical lecture. This is a practical session where you do the work yourself. That way you learn not only what the tools can do, but also how to use them responsibly.

The training is for everyone in the public sector, from trainees in the Dutch central government programme to experienced advisers. No technical background is needed. By default we work with ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot, and on request with Claude, Gemini, Mistral or Perplexity. That way the training fits your systems.

Using AI responsibly in the public sector

In the public sector, care counts twice. Governments are giving civil servants more room to use generative AI, provided they stay within clear frameworks. In the Netherlands, the central government has set out its own position on this. We address it explicitly.

  • Privacy and GDPR: which information you can and cannot enter, and how to stop confidential information leaking out.
  • Transparency and governance: who may do what, how you record AI use, and what this means for public algorithm registers (such as the Dutch Algorithm Register) and communication with citizens.
  • EU AI Act: since 2025, AI literacy requirements have applied across the EU. Our training is designed to meet them. For broader compliance, there is our EU AI Act compliance consulting.

Part of the learning path

All our programmes can be taken on their own or as a learning path. This advanced training builds on the basics. Want to lay a broad foundation first? Start with AI literacy. Want to embed AI structurally afterwards? See AI Way of Working.

Frequently asked questions

Can government bodies use AI for policy work?

Yes, provided it is transparent and careful. Never enter confidential or personal data into a public AI tool. In the training you learn to work responsibly within the applicable rules.

Does AI use comply with the EU AI Act?

Since 2025 the AI Act has set requirements, including on AI literacy. Our training helps you meet them. For broader compliance, there is our EU AI Act compliance consulting.

How many participants can take part?

A group usually has 6 to 30 participants. With more than 15 participants we bring two trainers, so everyone gets enough personal attention.

Do I need any prior knowledge?

No. The training requires no technical background. We do ask you to create a ChatGPT account before or during the training.

Do you also work with Microsoft Copilot instead of ChatGPT?

Yes. Many government organisations work in a Microsoft environment. By default we work with both ChatGPT and Copilot and tailor the training to your systems. On request we also cover Claude, Gemini, Mistral or Perplexity.
