Learn to use ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot safely in municipal work: for policy texts, citizen communication, council papers and legal tasks. Hands-on, in-house or online, no technical background needed. This is our Advanced training, tailored to municipalities.
Your trainers: Tim Goudriaan and Diederik Stolk.
About this AI training for municipalities
We build this training around the daily work of civil servants. You practise with real cases from your own municipality, from policy paper to a letter to a resident. That way you learn not only what ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot can do, but above all how to use them safely. We also offer the same format for policy makers and the public sector.
By default we work with ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot. On request we also look at Claude, Gemini or Perplexity. The training suits beginners and experienced users alike.
Care counts twice in the public domain
You work with residents’ data and with decisions that affect people. That is why we look closely at what you can and cannot enter in an AI tool, so personal data does not leak out under GDPR. An AI tool supports, it does not decide: you always check the output yourself. A writing task is usually low risk, while work involving rights, benefits or permits calls for extra oversight. Since 2025 the EU AI Act has set AI literacy requirements across the EU; for broader compliance, our EU AI Act compliance consulting can help.
Part of the learning path
All our programmes can be taken on their own or as a learning path. This advanced training builds on AI literacy. Want to embed AI structurally in your team? See AI Way of Working. Want to introduce AI more broadly than training alone? See our AI consulting for organisations.
How we tailor the training to your municipality
Beforehand we discuss which roles will take part and which cases you want to bring. That way every part connects to your own practice. We run the training in-house at your location or online, as a half day or full day. The training runs in English, with Dutch on request, so mixed groups at international or bilingual municipalities work fine.

Frequently asked questions
Can a municipality use AI for citizen communication?
Yes, provided it is careful and transparent. Never enter residents' personal data into a public AI tool. In the training you learn to work responsibly within GDPR and the EU AI Act.
Which civil servants is the training for?
For policy officers, communications professionals, legal staff and project leaders at municipalities.
Does AI use in a municipality comply with the EU AI Act?
Since 2025 the AI Act has set requirements for AI literacy. Our training helps you meet them. For broader compliance, there is our EU AI Act compliance consulting.
How many participants can take part?
A group usually has 6 to 30 participants. With more than 15 participants we bring two trainers, so everyone gets enough personal attention.
Do I need any prior knowledge?
No. The training requires no technical background. We do ask you to create an account for the AI tools we will use, before or during the training.
