Learn to use ChatGPT safely in the pharmacy: for patient information, pharmaceutical documentation, medication review support and communication with prescribers. Hands-on, in-house or online, no technical background needed. This is our Advanced training, tailored to pharmacy practice.
AI training for pharmacy practice
You work with real cases from your own pharmacy and learn to apply AI practically in your daily work, from the counter to the compounding room. That way you know not only what the tools can do, but also how to use them safely and sensibly. We train professionals in healthcare and pharmacy and tailor every session to pharmacy practice.
Your trainers: Tim Goudriaan and Diederik Stolk.
The training is for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmaceutical professionals, from newcomers to experienced colleagues. By default we work with ChatGPT and, on request, cover other models such as Claude, Copilot, Gemini or Perplexity. Don’t expect a theoretical lecture. This is a session where you do the work yourself.
Working safely with patient data in the pharmacy
In pharmaceutical care, confidentiality counts twice. You learn which information you can and cannot enter in an AI tool, so identifiable patient data does not leak out. You also practise always checking output against the source and your own pharmaceutical knowledge. With medication and side effects, an invented answer is a real risk.
That is why you practise medication review only with anonymised or fictional cases, or with general guideline information. Never with identifiable patient data. AI helps you prepare faster, but the pharmacist makes the assessment. We agree clearly on who may do what and how you record AI use.
Since 2025 the EU AI Act has set AI literacy requirements across the EU. This training is designed to meet them. For broader compliance, our EU AI Act compliance consulting can help. The pharmacist always remains responsible: AI supports the work, but does not take over the clinical judgement. Want to introduce AI more broadly than training alone? See our AI consulting for organisations.
AI in the pharmacy: part of the learning path
All our programmes can be taken on their own or as a learning path. This advanced training builds on the basics: if you want to lay the foundations first, start with AI literacy. Work more broadly in healthcare? Then AI training for healthcare is a good fit. Want to embed AI in your pharmacy afterwards? See AI Way of Working. Want to read more? AI literacy in healthcare: prompting becomes a practical necessity.
Good to know
No technical background or AI experience is required. We do ask you to create a ChatGPT account before or during the training. The training may qualify for CPD or accreditation points; get in touch and we will help you look into registration and possible funding.
